I made this sign at the office because our orchids keep dying prematurely from (well-intentioned) watering by the building maintenance. It 's funny situation – we never see the waterers, and we haven't asked them to water the plants, so in a way, it's a really nice gesture. But these particular plants need so little water that it's not actually helpful for us to have no idea when or if they've been getting some H2O. The sign needed to be firm but gentle.
I doubt it reflects the gratitude I feel for the waterer's intentions, but it seems to be working better than the janky-looking post-it notes we've tried in the past.
Side note: every time I look at this sign, I think about how there is absolutely nothing else on earth this sign or slogan could apply to. It only works here because someone else is taking care of the watering process. Literally or figuratively, "Please Never Water" is a formula for certain death.
