For the longest time, I wondered why they called the radio station at Bayside High School "KKTY." What did that have to do with anything? Maybe it was something about Southern California's school district. After all, my alma mater, Chesterton High School, had a radio station called "WDSO." It seemed silly, since
"WCHS" was right there, just waiting, obvious. DSO stood for "Duneland School Organization."
Duneland. Sounds so romantic.
It wasn't.
Eventually, it came to me. They're the Bayside Tigers. KTY...kitty. Cute. That's early-90s NBC Saturday morning for you. Always with the cute stuff. 10 years old, and I was overthinking it.
